Privacy Policy
We collect only what a feature needs to work, we don't sell it, and we delete it when you ask.
This policy covers this website and every product operated by B.C. Joe LLC ("we", "us"), including isitinstock.com (together, the "Services"). A product may publish a short supplement describing details specific to it; where it does, the supplement adds to this policy and does not replace it.
1. What we collect
This website
This site is static. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads nothing from third parties. Our web server keeps ordinary access logs (IP address, requested page, browser user-agent, time) for security and debugging, which are rotated and discarded within 30 days.
Products
Depending on which features you use, a product may collect:
- Account information — an email address, used to sign you in and to send the notifications you asked for.
- What you ask us to do — for example, the product pages you ask isitinstock.com to watch, and your notification preferences.
- Push notification subscriptions — if you enable browser notifications, the endpoint your browser gives us so we can deliver them. It identifies your browser, not you.
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, and request timing, used for rate limiting, abuse prevention, and keeping the service up.
Cookies
Products that let you sign in use cookies strictly to keep you signed in: a session cookie
after you sign in, and a short-lived cookie while a sign-in code is pending. Both are first-party,
HttpOnly, and never used for tracking or advertising. Your browser may also keep a
theme preference (light/dark) locally; that never leaves your device. We use no analytics,
advertising, or third-party cookies anywhere, which is why you will not see a cookie banner.
We do not ask for, and do not want, your name, address, payment details, or precise location unless a future feature plainly requires it, in which case this policy will be updated first.
2. How we use it
- To provide the feature you requested (signing you in, watching a page, sending the alert).
- To keep the Services secure and available, including limiting abusive traffic.
- To respond when you contact us.
- To understand aggregate usage (e.g. how many watches exist), never to profile individuals.
We do not sell personal information, do not share it with advertisers, and do not use it to train advertising or profiling models.
3. Who else sees it
Only service providers that we need to run the Services, and only the data each one needs:
- Email delivery providers, to send sign-in codes and alerts to the address you gave us.
- Push notification services operated by your browser vendor (e.g. Apple, Google, Mozilla), which relay notifications to your device.
- Hosting providers on whose servers the Services run.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or ourselves.
4. How long we keep it
Account data and the things you asked us to watch are kept while your account is active. When you delete a watch, unsubscribe, or close your account, the associated data is removed promptly from live systems and from backups within their normal rotation. Technical logs are kept no longer than 30 days.
5. Your choices and rights
- You can stop notifications at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email or the controls in the product.
- You can ask us to show you, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you by writing to the address below. We will respond within 30 days and will not charge for it.
- Residents of jurisdictions with specific privacy laws (including the EU/UK GDPR and U.S. state privacy laws) have the rights those laws provide; we honor them for everyone regardless of where you live.
6. Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on access-controlled systems. Sign-in uses one-time codes rather than passwords, so there is no password of yours for us to lose. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your data we will tell you.
7. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the effective date above and, for changes that reduce your privacy, notify account holders by email before the change takes effect.
